Why medical horse riding is necessary
Therapeutic horse riding (hippotherapy-in Greek, “horse treatment”) is an effective method of rehabilitation therapy.
In the Scandinavian countries, the United States, England, France, and Poland, metered horse riding and physical exercise on horseback are widely used in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients and the disabled.
Diseases that are traditionally attributed to the so-called “diseases of regulation”: gastrointestinal and cardiovascular diseases, including post-infarction conditions, are perfectly amenable to therapeutic riding (LVE).
LVE is very useful for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, scoliosis, osteochondrosis, the consequences of polio, prostatitis, as well as mental retardation and many other physical and mental suffering.
Regular LVE classes have a beneficial effect on the entire body as a whole, normalizing the activity of the Central nervous, cardiovascular and digestive systems. It is shown that such classes reduce the threshold of convulsive readiness of the brain, normalize blood sugar levels in diabetics, etc.especially effective and effective LVE was found in rehabilitation practice with children suffering from such severe, almost incurable diseases as cerebral palsy, oligophrenia (down syndrome), early childhood autism. The observed therapeutic effects are directly related to the wonderful, unique property of hippotherapy to simultaneously have a positive impact on the physical, intellectual and psychosocial sphere of a person.
In Russia, hippotherapy is just beginning to develop. Treatment centers have been established in Saint Petersburg, Moscow (Zhivaya NIT), and the Institute of horse breeding near Ryazan. In Rostov, enthusiasts of this new effective direction of rehabilitation and health maintenance work in the Palace of Health (Department of functional diagnostics), at the Department of human and animal physiology and At the Institute of Valeology of the Rostov state University, as well as in the research Institute of Neurocybernetics of RSU.
LVE has almost no contraindications and has a beneficial effect on people of any age and physical fitness. The experience of health classes that have been held for employees and students of RSU since 1990 has shown that horse riding is an excellent tool for restoring physical and mental performance. Horse riding classes allow you to relieve emotional stress, restore strength, and improve your mood in a short time. This method can be widely used in valeology as a way to maintain and preserve health.
